Tigers stars Dan Hipkiss, Sam Vesty, Ayoola Erinle and George Chuter took to the stage at the Mason and Brooke bar in Oadby for a charity gig in aid of the Matt Hampson Trust on Tuesday night.
The England and England Saxons internationals, formerly known as Slo Progress and now claiming to be The Progress, were joined on stage by Tigers team-mates Aaron Mauger and Seru Rabeni, with the later receiving a huge round of applause for his rendition of No Woman No Cry by Bob Marley.

The event, which was attended by many of the Tigers squad, was filmed by camera crews from Sky Sports and BBC East Midlands
“Most of the feedback we’ve had has been pretty positive,” said lead vocalist and frontman Hipkiss, whose flowing blond wig epitomised the 1980s fashion advice followed by all the band members.

“Matt is so important to everyone at the club and it was good to see that people still recognise that. It’s been a while since Matt’s accident but people like Matt Cornwell spend a lot of time trying to ensure Matt stays at the forefront of people’s minds. The club will never forget Matt and last night was a great way to raise some funds.

Proceeds from the event, which followed a previous gig at The Halftime Orange on Burnmoor Street back in 2006, went directly to Matt’s trust, along with £2,500 from event sponsors Guinness.

For more information on Matt’s trust, check out his official website at www.matthampson.co.uk
