EDF Energy TAG Festival

By Nicola Wright
Kenilworth RFC hosted the first EDF Energy National Schools Rugby Programme Festival with four local teams showcasing their new skills.
In a busy summer period for school sports, Howes Community, Good Shepherd, St Johns and Ravensdale Primary schools played in a four-way league and each enjoyed six matches of TAG after previously taking part in five weeks of EDF Energy TAG coaching.

Matches featured an average of 10 tries each, making for fun and entertaining afternoon of TAG Rugby which the official pitchside photographer pitch side was able to capture. The teams also had their photos taken with the EDF Energy Cup, won by Leicester Tigers last season, which provided a finishing touch to the day.

Congratulations to overall winners St Johns Primary School from Kenilworth. Their triumph was well St John'sdeserved as they won all of their six matches. All the children and the touchline spectators enjoyed the day and were not undeterred by the rain which fell during the final game.

A big thanks to Kenilworth RFC for allowing the festival to be held at their grounds, adding to the occasion for the children and giving them an insight into club rugby.
