After cruelly missing the 2003 World Cup with a knee injury sustained in a warm-up match against Scotland at Murrayfield, Geordan was named in the Ireland squad for the 2007 tournament in France. Owner of a British and Lions Test cap from the 2005 tour of New Zealand, Geordan had won 48 caps before the start of the World Cup. Currently the highest try-scorer within the Tigers squad, he had made close to 200 first-team starts, together with a further 17 appearances as a replacement, by the close of the 2006/07 season. Geordan appeared 22 times in Tigers colours last term, scoring five tries, including a vital, opening effort in Leicester’s stunning victory over Munster at Thomond Park in January 2007.

A winner of five Premiership titles and two Heineken Cups with Tigers, Geordan has kicked 49 conversions, 33 penalties and three drop goals for the club. Previously with Naas and Auckland Grammar School, Geordan made his Leicester debut against Rotherham in November 1997, making the 2007/08 season his 11th with the club.
