Funded by Alliance & Leicester, Special Schools Tag gives youngsters with moderate and severe learning difficulties the chance to play TAG rugby.

Our principal aim is to deliver quality coaching sessions, whilst supporting coaches and teachers. The programme provides the opportunity to intergrate children attending the coaching sessions in to appropriate rugby clubs via rugby festivals.

Leicester Tigers coaches have now visited Ellesmere College, Maplewell Hall and Keyham Lodge. They were received with good enthusiasm and the work ethic of the children meant the sessions could be developed past expectations. With different ranges, abilities and skills, all the children took part and got stuck in.

Tigers community team are now looking  to visit another 4 schools in the Summer half term of 2008, finishing the programme in 2009.
