What is the Healthy Schools Programme?
The Tigers Healthly Schools programme targets inner-city primary schools and aims to promote a healthy lifestyle. Funded by the Leicester Children's Fund, it covers three main aspects of health: nutrition, fluid intake and dental care with a variety of practical workshops and physical activity for the children to enjoy. Each child that takes part receives a certificate during an assembly delivered by Joe Hill, Tigers Healthy Schools Officer along with a Tigers player who talks to them about life as a professional player. The children also receive fresh fruit for their break time snack as a healthy alternative to crisps and chocolate.
